Enter Network Credentials Access Error On Windows 10

I just bought a new computer with Windows 10. I transferred my pictures & videos to lớn my new computer, but when I try to open a Clip khổng lồ watch it, I get a message to lớn "Enter Network Credentials". I have sầu no idea what my username and password are for this. Is there a way khổng lồ find out?

Thank you, ClarenceE. I would add that (in my case, anyway)the username & password I had to lớn use wasmy wife"s computer"sdonghocititime.com tài khoản and password that was established when setting up her Windows 8.1. Very confusing, but I"m not sure how long it would have sầu taken me without your help.

The username và password it"s asking for are the same ones you provide when you login to lớn the PC that you are on at the present. If you have set it up (somehow) to have no username or password, then it should work (but I can"t demo that) by leaving them both empty and clicking on OK.

As khổng lồ why on earth, in Windows 10, donghocititime.com has suddenly decided that, if you want khổng lồ access another device, truyền thông or PC etc. on your own network, you have to lớn re-enter your login details, I couldn"t possibly speculate. Perhaps someone at donghocititime.com could tell us?? It would also be extremely helpful if this annoying little pop-up screen could either be removed completely (as it has no conceivable value that I can see); or at least be provided with a "help" button which explains what is actually being asked for, as per RickKerns" post (and why?? - although that"s probably a bridge too far!)

It is a trang chủ network! Everything I read & got from donghocititime.com và the forums implied that the problem needed lớn be resolved in the settingsmy laptop. I finally worked through it on my own, discovering that the issue were the credentials for thehard drive not on my computer.

This problem is SOOOO frustrating! I have sầu got a new máy vi tính with Windows 10 & keep getting this pop up when trying to lớn access my external networked hard drive - I tried everything.

Found some info from another thread on here & found my soloution.

I have sầu a máy vi tính with Win 10, a máy tính xách tay with Win 7, a Billion router và a Seagate externalhard drive. The Seagate plugs straight inkhổng lồ the router, the laptops are WIFI.

I could see each of the laptops on both computers và access the Hard driveon the Win 7 máy tính xách tay, I could only SEE it on the Win 10 máy vi tính - when I tried to lớn access it I got the dreaded "Enter your Network Credentials" popup.

I had to go to the Credentials Manager in the Control Panel/User Accountson the Win 7 laptop (as this is the one that could access the HD) & clicked on the Seagate HD which showed me the username of the HD và then I had khổng lồ guess the password I had given it. Entered those details inlớn the popup box on the Win 10 máy tính xách tay và FINALLY was granted access to lớn my own files!!!!!

Hope this helps.

:-)

UPDATE: When trying to lớn access files on Win 7 máy tính xách tay from Win 10 machine I couldn"t find the username in the credentials manager on Win 7 máy tính xách tay in order to enter it inkhổng lồ the pop up box on the Win 10 laptop. The Win 7 máy vi tính had no password on the user account & I had also changed the "screen name" of my user account so this made it a bit tricky in order to know the information required for the pop up box as I had tried the currentname showing on my user tài khoản whichthe Win 10 machine denied.

On my Win 10 machine I changed the settings khổng lồ "Allow User Name và Passwords" khổng lồ access files. On Win 7 machine I had to lớn issue my user account with a password (as pop up on Win 10 machine wouldn"t allow blank passwords) and also to lớn find the "true" user name of my account I had khổng lồ go lớn "Control Panel/System và Security/System then clicked on the "Change Settings" tab under Computer Name, tên miền, and Workgroup settings which then gave sầu me the "System Properties" box under the "Advanced" tab I clicked on the User Profiles settings button which then showed me the correct name of my user account.

Sorry if this is the long way around or just obvious for most people but I am in no way a computer expert và thought it might help other computer simpletons to get a basic solution that works! :-)
